16 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Preston and South Ribble on Friday May 22

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has announced no new deaths from coronavirus today.

The death toll at Royal Preston and Chorley Hospitals remains at 185, according to figures released by the NHS today.

However figures do not include people who have died but whose deaths have not yet been reported.

Government figures show there have been six new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Preston since yesterday, bringing the total figure to 405. The infection rate is 285.6 per 100,000 people.

In South Ribble there have been 10 new cases confirmed since yesterday. There are now 235 confirmed cases of coronavirus, representing an infection rate of 212.6 per 100,000 people.

Chorley has 328 confirmed coronavirus cases with an infection rate of 280.8 per 100,000 people.
