Preston residents and ex-pats are being asked to take part in a video documentary about life in lockdown, filmed during their daily exercise.
The Living City project, by They Eat Culture and Mandala Yoga Centre, aims to explore life in Preston, and for Prestonians across the globe, through photos, film and audio recordings.
Footage will be filmed on smart phones as city dwellers walk or cycle during lockdown.
The documentary will have an eye on what it could mean to be a ‘living city’ in the future.
Ruth Heritage, of They Eat Culture, says: “Whatever walk of life, whatever your experience, we need you to tell us about how youâre experiencing lockdown through photos, film, and audio recordings on your phone.
“Weâve had some people already taking pictures and capturing audio and video, telling us where they are both on the streets and also in their head.
“Because itâs quite a crazy time on lockdown, we thought we would try and capture as many stories as possible. And now we need lots of people to get involved.
“Lockdown is going to get lifted, bit by bit, but social distancing might stay in place for some time.
“This is changing all of our lives â from how we live, learn, love, to how we socialise, share faith, be creative and keep active. As this changes, we want to explore the city through your eyes and experiences.
“If youâre worried about ânot getting it rightâ or ânot having anything to sayâ, donât worry, we will be hosting tutorials, Q&As, and sending you prompts so you can learn a bit and enjoy being involved.
“And if you donât have a smartphone, we also want to hear from you, so we can support you to tell your story.”
