A woman from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died at a house in Kirkham.
AdvertisementPolice were called to Chestnut Close, shortly before 2pm on Wednesday April 8, to find the body of a man inside the house.
He has since been identified as Lee Walker, 47.
His death is being treated as unexplained.
Police have began a murder investigation and have arrested a 39-year-old woman, from Preston, on suspicion of murder.
She remains in custody as police await a Home Office post mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Police say they have stepped up patrols in the area in the last 48-hours.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee Wilson, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Walker at this time and while we have arrested one person our enquiries are very much on-going.
“I would appeal to anyone with information, in particular anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the address over the last few days, to get in touch.
“There will be extra police in the area over the next couple of days so please do approach an officer if you have any information or concerns.”
