Police flooded Morley Croft in Farington Moss in the early hours of this morning after reports a man in dark clothing was trying doors in the area.
AdvertisementOfficers from South Ribble Police’s Response Team were called in at 2:40am on Wednesday (April 8) after a member of the public raised the alarm.
Shortly after 3am they found a man hiding in a rear garden. He was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and attempted burglary.
He was also in possession of a hand held catapult which police believe may have been stolen from a shed during the night.

A police spokesperson said: “There have been a number of burglaries recently across Buckshaw Village and Leyland – we’re hoping this sends a message out to those at fault.”
