Many Prestonians doing the Clap For Our Carers at Royal Preston Hospital were treated to a fly-by.
The North West Air Ambulance went up as the city once again clapped in appreciation of the efforts being made by carers, NHS staff and key workers.
The helicopter did aerial laps over the hospital as emergency services and staff applauded below.
A statement from the North West Air Ambulance Charity said: “If you’re in the Preston area tonight keep your eyes peeled for our special way to thanks the NHS during the 8pm #clapforourcarers and #clapforourkeyworkers.
“The wonderful NHS staff and key workers across the UK are doing a phenomenal job to help us all during these difficult times, so we’ll be saying thank you – the North West Air Ambulance Way.”

Applause rang out across the city for the fourth week of lockdown to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.
Lancashire has so far seen 2,305 confirmed coronavirus cases, and 92 people have lost their lives at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who managed Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley Hospital.
