A Preston therapist is helping those in need by providing free treatments for stress and anxiety.
Lukasz Niebieszczanski from MCR Therapies in Fulwood is offering acupuncture free of charge to people who would otherwise not be able to afford the treatment.
Owner Lukasz started the giveaway after deciding he wanted to make a difference to local people.
He said: “Research has shown that acupuncture slows the body’s production of stress hormones.
“I figured that lots of people would like to try acupuncture for stress, but can’t always afford it, and I found that unfair.
“I also started to think about suicide awareness and how I can at least try to make a change.
“I’ve been able to help one ex-soldier to the extent that his daughter and his social worker can see the difference in his mood and behaviour. He is no longer afraid of going out of his house.
“People often see results after one session, and the results improve with continued treatment. The majority of my patients have told me they sleep better and have a stronger sense of overall wellbeing.
“The ability to make a change is what I hold most dear. I’m now keen to reach more people since I can still afford to spare some resources.”

Lukasz, who works as a private contractor to the NHS, is offering the service based on trust.
He said: “Anyone taking up the offer will not be charged for up to eight visits over four weeks of treatment. This is a period during which acupuncture was found effective.
“I don’t do any checks as to whether someone can or cannot afford the visit. I trust people would be in genuine need of help.”
The clinic is based at 1 Sharoe Green Park. To find out more, visit the MCR Therapies Facebook page.
