Local musician Mark Whiteside is set to bring his One Sided Horse act to Penwortham this April.
He will be joined for the gig at Penwortham Arts Centre ‘The Venue’ by Gareth Cole on guitar and Stuart Mayor on piano.
Playing on the night as well is singer EEVAH, who has been seen for the last few years singing duets with Danny McNamara from Embrace on their sold out tours.
Mark set up this local gig to showcase songs that he has been writing since releasing his debut, Between Light and Space, in 2018. The album featured the musicians from Embrace who contributed to make the sound more anthemic and radio friendly.

After supporting the band Dodgy on their acoustic tour, Mark has been busy performing solo shows with their lead singer Nigel Clark in venues across the UK.
He said: “It has been great to watch Nigel and see how he interacts with the audience and this has taught me a lot in how to perform better live. My songs suit a more intimate setting and I think playing in the old Library will be perfect for our sound.
“Musically it is has been described as being similar to Nick Cave, The National and Leonard Cohen which I suppose is not a bad thing! Sad songs about love seem to be popular I think.”
The performance takes place on Saturday 4 April from 7pm till 10pm. Tickets are available from Eventbrite.
