Details of a crowdfunding campaign to raise £1m for the NHS in Preston during the Covid-19 crisis have been released.
Businessman Yousuf Bhailok launched the campaign, pledging £100,000 to get the appeal up and running.
Mr Bhailok, who owns many businesses and properties in the Preston area, says the money will be used to fund support for frontline staff, PPE (personal protective equipment), equipment and any other support as and when it is needed.

He said: “We urge the City of Preston to show by example, our strong community spirit and togetherness during this time of crisis, and help in any capacity they may be able to assist, to help raise awareness or funds to provide the crucial support with our health service needs.
“An initial target of £1,000,000 (One Million Pounds) has been set, which will be used to support NHS staff across the hospital and others as required. We are working closely with NHS staff on the frontline to ascertain their needs and requirements to help navigate and assist them through this crisis.”
