Body in Preston Docks believed to be missing man Shaun Horan

The body recovered yesterday is believed to be that of Shaun Horan

A body discovered in Preston Docks yesterday (Sunday 29 March) is believed to be Shaun Horan.

Shaun, 48, went missing on 3 February of this year, and was last seen at Mariners Way, Preston, close to where the body was recovered.

Police were called to Preston Docks at around 1.40pm Sunday (29 March) afternoon to a report that a body had been seen in the water.

While the body has not yet been formally identified, police say they believe it to be Shaun Horan.

Preston Police said, “We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has responded to our previous appeals in our search to find Shaun.

“Shaun’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

“We hope that in spite of the sad news, it has provided his family with some comfort.

“Our thoughts remain with them.”

Mr Horan’s death is not though to be suspicious and the file has been passed to HM Coroner.
