Preston’s Sikh Sewa Society UK is set to celebrate their third anniversary of feeding and clothing the city’s homeless.
The Society was formed in January 2017 by a small group of Sewadars (Selfless Service Volunteers).
Their mission is to help those in need by serving Langar – free vegetarian meals and refreshments – regardless of religion, gender, age or status.
The group also distribute warm clothing at their events, held every Saturday evening and on the last Sunday of each month under the canopy at Preston Markets.
A spokesperson said: “We humbly thank everyone who has supported Preston Sikh Sewa Society UK from 2017 including Preston City Council, local businesses and organisations.”
The third anniversary celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Langar Sewa will take place on Sunday 23 February from 4pm.
