The University of Central Lancashire says it’s monitoring the Coronavirus situation as it has students and staff currently in China.
AdvertisementA spokesperson for the University said: “We are in close contact with Public Health England (PHE) who assess the current risk to the UK as low, but we are highlighting the current PHE precautionary measures to the University community.”
The warning to students and staff states:
Maintain good hand, respiratory and personal hygiene and avoid visiting animal and bird markets or people who are ill with respiratory symptoms.
Individuals should seek medical attention if they develop respiratory symptoms within 14 days of visiting Wuhan, either in China or on their return to the UK, informing their health service prior to their attendance about their recent travel to the city.
The spokesperson said the University will continue to monitor the situation closely, and is ready to take action as needed.
