A family-run florist is moving into Preston Markets.

Preston Flowers opens today (Wednesday 8 January).

The florist has been a Preston staple for over 35 years, having previously been based in St. John’s Shopping Centre and the former indoor market.

Now the son of the previous owner is opening the new stall selling a range of fresh and artificial flowers.

He said: “I can’t wait bring my business back to Preston Markets. We look forward to welcoming customers new and old to our stall.

“As well as day-to-day flowers, we specialise in occasion flowers for weddings, parties and funerals. If you have an event coming up and need some advice, please pop down for a chat.”

Councillor Robert Boswell, Cabinet Member for Environment at Preston City Council, said: “It is great to welcome Preston Flowers back to the market.

“Preston Flowers is a well-established, successful business which I am sure will be very popular with customers and fellow traders in the Market Hall.

“As always I encourage the people of Preston to continue to support these local businesses and enjoy what Preston Markets and its traders have to offer.”
