Sgt Richard Horton said: “This stack of driving licences and passports were all surrendered to door staff at Preston city Centre venues over the Christmas and New Year period when people other than the real owners tried to blag their way into a venue using somebody else’s ID or fake ID.

“Venues are getting better and better at weeding out fake and “borrowed” ID.

“Trying to use the ID to get into pubs and clubs when you’re under 18 is a criminal offence that leaves you at risk of a criminal record.

“Anyway, I now have a stack of licences and passports in the office waiting to be returned in exchange for the interesting stories about how somebody else came to be in possession of them.

“You can leave a message for me via the contact an officer link on the Constabulary Web Pages if you think your ID is in the stack.”

If you think your driving licemce or passport might be among the items seized, contact Sgt 777 Horton at the ‘Contact an Officer’ page of the Lancashire Police website.
