The Pattie Shack is moving to new premises in Manchester Road.

The popular Caribbean eatery made its name trading from a van in the NCO Europe car park near the Holiday Inn.

Now owners Lisa and Anthony are busy renovating the new shop, which was formerly Caribbean Spice.

They are also developing the menu, and new recipes are in the works for dishes including saltfish fritters, pulled jerk chicken and slow-cooked pepper steak.

The move to the new premises is particularly welcome for Lisa, who became a victim of crime while preparing to open for business.

Lisa said: “In 2017 we had a small food van ready to trade when it was stolen. With the help of both Blog Preston and users of Facebook, we actually recovered it almost 12 months later! We got fully up and trading in April this year.

“We would like to say a massive thank you to Blog Preston readers. The lady who called to say she had found it had seen our Facebook page, and after she had read about it on Blog Preston she got in touch.”

The Pattie Shack will be located at 15-17 Manchester Road, and is expected to open early January. Follow The Pattie Shack on Facebook for updates.
