Over 170 people took part in the sixth annual Cheeky Santa Dash in Avenham Park to raise funds for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
The 5k two-lap festive family fun run was the idea of the late Ben Ashworth, who ran 24 marathons and raised more than £40,000 for charity, after being diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2012.
Dad-of-three Ben used humour to try and raise awareness of bowel cancer. The Cheeky Santa Dash, which he ran three times, was a cornerstone of his campaigning. The run has continued in Ben’s memory since he passed away in 2017 at the age 38.
Among those taking part this year were Ben’s wife and Cheeky Santa Dash co-founder Louise Harlow, and his three daughters Heidi, Isobel and Skye.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation chief officer Dan Hillon said: “On the day itself, the event had 173 participants, who ranged in age from babies in prams to people in their seventies.
“Everyone had made an effort to dress up. The atmosphere was fantastic and we’d like to thank everyone who supported the dash.”
