David Harvey, 42, was last seen on December 21 and officers are keen to trace him.

He has breached the terms of his sex offenders order and his prison release licence conditions.

Harvey was jailed in July 2019 after being convicted of four sexual assaults. He was released recently but has not kept police informed of his whereabouts.

He is described as 5ft 10ins, slim build, with a bald head. He speaks with a Scottish accent and has links to Edinburgh.

Police believe he may be using the rail network.

Anybody with information as to his whereabouts is asked to get in touch as soon as possible by calling 101 or emailing Southintelunit1@lancashire.pnn.police.uk, quoting log number LC-20191222-0206
