And so this is Christmas…
AdvertisementAs we welcome another season of festivities we would like to wish all our readers a very merry Christmas from us here at Blog Preston.
It’s been a busy and exciting year as we’ve celebrated our 10th anniversary. We’ve seen stories of hope, tragedy and incredible kindness, and have been proud to have been right there at the heart of things.
2019 saw more than 1,200,000 unique users on the site, with more than 50 per cent of the city visiting Blog Preston at least once a month.
As we celebrate with family and friends, please spare a thought for those without that sort of environment.
At the beginning of 2019 we pledged our support to the Big PNE Sleep Out, which aimed to raise £50,000 for The Foxton Centre in the charity’s 50th year.
Last month, that target was smashed when more than 300 people (including Ed and Kate) bedded down on the concrete at Deepdale and raised over £80,000 to help the most vulnerable people in our city.
It’s events like this that show Proud Preston in its best light and we’re glad to be a part of it.

In September, our founder and editor Ed Walker took a step back from running the site and Kate and I would like to thank you all for your continued support as we’ve settled into our new roles.
As ever, thank you also for all your photos, stories, clicks and contributions, which help make the site what it is.
On behalf of all of the team here at Blog Preston we’d like to wish you all a peaceful and joyous Christmas, and all the very best for 2020.
Rachel, Kate, Ed, Shamaila, Karen, Abi, Jack and all our contributors.
