The spectacular extravaganza has become a festive must-see with the family decking the halls, lawn and rafters with lights and decorations galore.

For the next three weeks the family will be getting the house ready for the big switch on, which takes place at 6pm on Sunday 1 December.

The Tippings have started preparation for their annual Christmas display

Nicola Tipping said: “We’ve always had some decorations outside our house but we’ve been doing it for charity for seven years now.

“In those years we have raised over £67,000.

“We started with just a few lights for our children but since doing it for charity we have wanted to make it bigger and better and it has grown and grown over the years.”

The dazzling display is lovingly put together to raise funds for charities Derian House children’s hospice, Jordan Grant 18 (CRY), Chris Rand Fan Club (Rosemere Cancer Foundation) and Headway Chorley and Preston brain injury.

Nicola added: “Our electricity bill over the Christmas light period increases by approximately £400! However we stand this cost of this and 100% of all donations goes towards the four charities we support.”

You can see the Tippings’ Christmas lights at 1 Valentines Meadow in Cottam, from December 1.
