An inspiring event celebrating female power and northern pride will take place in Preston next year.

WomanKind North is set to be a creative and inspiring one day event which aims to boost and connect thousands of women across the north west.

The event will take place during International Women’s Day in March 2020 and will explore the theme ‘Take your space – Make more space’.

Organisers and Preston entrepreneurs, Morgana Loze-Doyle and Helen Kerray, are keen to showcase northern speakers, inspiring stories and creative workshops.

The duo are well known in the local area; Morgana has built a powerful female creative group with over 500 active members called CWS Creatives.

The creative business owners have joined forces to host an event that they believe is unique to Lancashire. An event for northern women, by northern women, utilising northern women’s expertise and experiences.

Morgana said: “We chose Preston for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is our home-town and where we already built a strong community of women through our solo projects. It also has such great transport links and is ideally suited to pull in women from other smaller northern towns/cities like Lancaster, Blackpool, Burnley, Blackburn, Morecambe and Wigan, and really increase the exposure of women from these places which don’t often host destination events.”

The launch of WomanKind North is the realisation of a long-standing ambition for Morgana and Helen to truly champion the diverse talent of females in the north.

They also want to arm attendees with insights and inspiration from some of the region’s most successful female business leaders.

Helen said: “This is an event which has been needed for years in the north. An event to shine a massive spotlight on the achievements of our diverse women. We have a duty to celebrate their success and create more visibility for future women from the north to feel inspired and achieve their aims.

“Businesses and brands wanting to jump on board with this event will certainly gain huge exposure. We aim to be a big northern voice both with our online platforms and within our communities too.”

Early bird tickets are on sale for the event on Eventbrite. £5 of each ticket sold goes to a variety of charities supporting women in the north. The event is for over 18s only and tickets include entry to the event, lunch, refreshments and a goody bag.

The organisers are also seeking businesses in Lancashire that would like to support and sponsor the event. More details can be found on the WomanKind North website.

WomanKind North will take place on Saturday 7 March from 10am to 4pm at Landmark, St Marys Street North, Preston, PR1 5LG. For more information and tickets visit Eventbrite.
