A Preston city centre pottery studio is holding an open event to officially celebrate its launch.
Make North, which opened in the former Saul Street Clinic in July, will host the Winter Open Studios on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 November.
Make North’s resident makers will be giving demonstrations, and some of their work will be available to buy.
Northern Heart Films will be screening a selection of short films that document the lives and creativity of the people of Lancashire.
Also in attendance will be recent graduates from the UCLan Ceramics MA, and the technicians from their print department.
Make North founder Louise Smith said: “We opened Make North just under three months ago and now have almost 40 amateur members, who have been enthusiastically learning the foundations of pottery, plus 12 incredibly talented professional makers in our studios, many of whom teach the courses.
“It’s a great community and a real celebration of creativity, and we’d love to meet even more people who might be interested at the open studios.”
Also part of the winter programme of events will be an exhibition of work from Make North’s amateur members, plus drop-in workshops to create a Christmas decoration.
