A man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Bamber Bridge

A man has suffered serious injures after being attacked in Bamber Bridge.

Police and paramedics were called to Cottage Lane shortly before 1.30pm to reports a man had been attacked by a group of men with a weapon.

He suffered cuts to his arm, back and head and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment but his injures are not thought to be life threatening.

Police closed off Charnley Court and the Air Ambulance landed on the field at Walton-le-Dale high school.

A police spokesman said: “Our enquiries are ongoing but we are treating this as an isolated incident and do not believe there is any wider threat to the general public.

“We have recovered three vehicles in connection with our investigation.

“Nobody has been arrested at this stage.”
