Fishergate Shopping Centre will be welcoming over 40 local traders and artisan makers to kick start the festive season with its first Christmas Artisan Bazaar.

Taking place on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1s December, shoppers will be able to browse through the 40 curated independent businesses across three floors.

The shopping centre will also be taking this opportunity to raise money for the Rainbow House charity, which supports children, young people and adults with neurological conditions.

Celebrating local businesses and craftsmanship, the event will showcase everything from cakes to candles and gifting to food and drink, giving customers the complete Christmas shopping experience.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Keith Mitchell, General Manager at Fishergate Shopping Centre said: “This is going to be a fantastic event for the city, and one we’re extremely proud to be hosting.

“We’re excited to welcome the very best of local business from the north west in to Fishergate, and bring our customers a superb Christmas shopping experience that all the family can enjoy.”

The centre launched its search for local businesses back in August and received over 100 applications from around the north west.

The festivities will continue outside with a marquee alongside the shopping centre car park filled with more artisanal gift stalls and hot food vendors for customers to enjoy.

Among the 40 plus businesses will be Skyclad Vodka from Freckleton and Marsh Mill Interiors based at Riversway, as well as many other local vendors.

Kirsty O’Brien, Etsy Lancashire Co-Captain and Director of Blenheim Candles who will host a stall at the event, said “We have been overwhelmed with the amount of applications and interest for this event, which just goes to show how many fantastic local businesses there are in the area.

“We’re excited to bring independent retailers in a high street environment and give them a platform to meet new customers and grow their audience.

“We’re thrilled that Fishergate Shopping Centre are giving local businesses such an amazing opportunity at a peak trading time.”

The Christmas Artisan Bazaar will be open during shopping centre trading hours on both Saturday and Sunday.
