Police looking for missing Preston man John Rigby have found a body.

Officers launched a search after Mr Rigby, 37, was reporting missing on Monday November 26.

Sadly, a body – thought to be Mr Rigby – was found near Alson Lane yesterday.

A police spokesman said: “While formal identification has yet to be carried out the body is believed to be that of Mr Rigby.

“His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.

Mr Rigby’s dog Pip, who was with him when he was reported missing, has been found safe and well.
