A 19-year-old businesswoman from Fulwood is launching an eyelash training academy in Lane Ends.
Imogen Southwood is creating The iLashed Academy in what was Lloyds Bank in 465-467 Blackpool Road.
Imogen started in business while aged 17 and studying for her A levels, when she set up as a home-based eyelash technician.
She said: “The plan was to become a nurse, but after completing my studies the business just took off.
“It started with huge waiting lists for appointments, and then progressed into creating my own brand of eyelash products that sells worldwide via my website.
“Now I’m training others in the business – I’ve even had someone come from Canada to train with me.
“I’ve decided to open my own training academy where I can incorporate my appointments, training and products all under one roof.
“There is a vast amount of work to do to get the premises ready to be the high quality luxury salon I envisage, but the plan is to have The iLashed Academy up and running by mid-December.”
Now the ground floor will be leased out to Imogen, planning consent has been granted to convert the upper floors in to two separate two bedroom flats.
