The new Matalan has opened its doors in the St George’s Centre

Preston’s newest department store has returned to its roots as Matalan opens its doors in the St George’s Centre.
The first branch of the UK wide chain opened in Holme Road, Bamber Bridge in 1985.
Now the store has added a city centre branch to its portfolio on the ground floor of the shopping centre.

The new branch opened its doors yesterday (Wednesday October 16) and will host an official launch event on Saturday October 19.
The first 200 shoppers through the door will be handed a golden envelope with vouchers to spend in store.
The appointed store manager said: “Hello Preston! We’re so excited to bring Matalan to the heart of the city, offering you amazing fashion inspiration for all the family at incredible value.”
At 26,188 sq ft in size, the new store offers plenty of shopping space for customers with womenswear, menswear, kidswear and homeware.
