Street Food Preston is hoping to bring an exciting new restaurant concept to the city centre.

Due to open in mid-November, the restaurant in Walker Street will offer various stalls of different street food, all operated by individual businesses who are specialists in their field.

The building boasts a modern rustic feel with wooden and open brick walls, bringing the feel of outdoors street food stalls into an indoor setting.

Foods on offer will include Cube Desserts, New York Pizza Company’s authentic Italian pizzas, Malaysian food from Lapar, and Baba’s Biriyani, offering three different biryanis, all made with authentic ingredients.

The pizzas are going to be cooked in a woodfired oven, meaning they can be ready in as little as 90 seconds, as well as other food being ready in advance to make it quick food for people on the go, as well as an environment where people can relax and enjoy their food.

Irfan Ashgar, owner of the new restaurant, is hoping to create an intimate feel allowing people to choose a cuisine of their choice.

He said: “Our vision is we are trying to create an environment where people can come and be within the same premises but not feel like they are eating at the same place.

“It’s like a food court but in a smaller more intimate setting.

“Here we are trying to create something where you can come with a group of friends or family and if you don’t feel like eating a particular type of food, you’ve got options.”

The owners are hoping that the business will not just be popular among Preston residents but also as a hub for students.

Irfan said: “For us, the key thing is the quality of the food, the food has to be right.

“What we are offering is exactly that.”

Once up and running, Street Food Preston is hoping to open from mid-morning to late at night.
