Most of the changes are minor and are intended to make the service more reliable.

The following services will be affected:

Service 2/2A, Preston – Southport/Ormskirk – Timetable revised to improve reliability. The overall frequency of buses remains unaffected.

Service 3, Preston – Penwortham – Revised timetable will be in operation on Saturdays, with buses now running up to every 12 minutes during the daytime.

Service 4, Preston – Longridge – Stagecoach has taken the decision to withdraw this service, as it is not commercially viable to operate.

A spokesperson said: “We have been in discussions with Lancashire County Council and they are arranging for a replacement bus service from 4th November. At this stage, the exact details and the operator of this service are not known.”

Service 4C to Preston’s College is not affected by this and will continue to operate as normal.

Service 9, Preston – Moor Nook –Timetable revised to provide a coordinated frequency with improved service 59 along New Hall Lane. The overall level of service will remain the same.

Service 59, Preston – Blackburn – New improved timetable, with buses operating up to every 20 minutes, Monday to Saturday daytimes. When combined with service 9 (Preston – Moor Nook), this means a Stagecoach bus up to every 10 minutes between Preston Bus Station and Hesketh’s Arms for most of the day.

Service 68, Preston – Blackpool – Revised timetable will be introduced for the winter period, adjusting running times to reflect the quieter traffic conditions along the coastal areas. Buses will continue to operate up to every 15 minutes. Finally, following discussions with Cardinal Newman College, the morning college arrival will be re-timed to arrive at the college at 0910 hrs.

Service 280, Preston – Skipton –The 6.55am journey from Earby to Preston will operate 8 minutes earlier between Earby and Mellor Brook, in order to ensure a timely arrival into Preston.
