Preston residents are being asked to be careful with what they are recycling.
Preston City Council has reported that some paper and card has been rejected by the company that processes it.
This is due to items such as gas cannisters, nappies (in and out of bags) and car parts being found within the loads.

Information about what can and can’t be recycled can be found on Preston City Council’s website.
While items such as paper, wrapping paper (non-foil), newspapers and cereal boxes can be collected, wallpaper, plastic wrapping and juice/milk cartons can’t be. This is just a handful of items which can and can’t be, and the council is ensuring that all residents are clear of what can be.
The council is advising residents to take care when they are sorting out their waste, and to make sure they are going through their recycling.
