A team of Preston North End fans who are part of the biggest online forum about the club are joining the city’s sleepout to help the homeless.

Deepdale Stadium will see hundreds of people bed down for the night to try to raise £50,000 for The Foxton Centre.

John Kelly is one of a group from the PNE-Online forum.

He’s already doubled the fundraising target for individuals and has spoken about why he’s taking part in the Sleep Out on Friday 15 November.

John said: “I work for a local charity called N-Compass North West and became aware of the great work of The Foxton Centre through service users of our wellbeing service.

“Supporting people who may have mental health conditions is a passion of mine.

“I am always keen to give back to the community and after speaking to my colleague Katharine Lonsdale – who is also passionate about supporting those less fortunate – and hearing about how the funds would be used, we put our names down straightaway.

“We are all one non-payday away from becoming homeless and while we would hope that we would never need the support many in the Preston area do, without the Foxton Centre, those homeless people would have nowhere else to go.

“The positive outcomes I have seen from such organisations can change lives.”

John hopes PNE fans will back him and fellow PNE-Online forum members with donations.

You can donate to John’s Sleepout efforts via his Totalgiving page.
