New networking events are taking in Preston for individuals and businesses working in the events industry.
The EveX Network events take place on the second Tuesday of every other month at 1842 Bar and Restaurant in Preston city centre.
EveX Network, which stands for Event Exchange, is the brainchild of Lee Johnson, who recently graduated from UCLan with a First-Class Honours in Event Management.
Lee said: “I understand the importance of networking and the benefits it can bring, and spotted a void in the events sector for an industry specific networking group.
“All events industry people, services and businesses are welcome at our meetings. The emphasis is on informality and meeting in a relaxed atmosphere over a free coffee and pastry. There are no formal speeches or presentations, and there’s no need to register in advance.”
The first EveX Network event took place in September, and over 40 people attended. Those in attendance included security companies, florists, local venues, photographers, pub quiz hosts, event companies, DJs, theatre directors, UCLan lecturers and students, and local authority officers.

Lee said: “We were delighted to welcome Jason Karl as our first guest speaker. Jason is a local and well-respected TV presenter, Creative Director and Actor and is famous for his work in the scare attraction industry globally.
“Jason gave a very interesting and lively presentation on the success of his scare attractions, and a detailed account of how he got to where he is today.”
The next EveX Network event will take place on Thursday 14 November at 8am. January’s date will be confirmed soon.
