A new LGBTQ night has launched at an events venue in Aqueduct Street.
BOB – short for Bit of Both – will be on at The Boiler House every Thursday from 9pm to 2am. It’s £1.50 entry and drinks are priced from £1.50 each.
The night, which launched on Thursday 3 October, was briefly called Straightish before a customer competition saw the night rebranded to BOB.
The Boiler House owners Andrew Cottan and Stu Leadbetter have brought Lauren Hunter in to advise on the LGBTQ scene.
Lauren said: “We opened as there is very little in Preston for the LGBTQ community.
“Our main aim is to create a safe environment for the LGBTQ community, but we are inclusive of everyone who supports the community.
“We are out of the way on Aqueduct Street as we we want to be a place where people decide to go to. Sometimes passing trade can be volatile in gay bars, not knowing or realising what they are walking into. Although most are supportive there are unfortunately a few who aren’t.”

Lauren said there are plenty of plans in the pipeline for BOB.
“We will be doing a Hallowe’en special and hosting regular theme nights with drag acts, prize karaoke, games and strippers.
“We also have something coming soon called ‘kinky side’ – but all will be revealed at a later date.”
