A south west based modern country band is coming to Preston as part of a northern tour.
Wrecking Ball will play the Whittingham Club on Sunday 13 October following a show at Glasgow’s famous Grand Ole Opry.
The band, which features two times British Country Music Association winner Mark Hills, describe themselves as “a real band for real honky tonkers.”
A spokesperson for the band said: “Wrecking Ball is fast becoming the most sought after rock-country band in the UK. Created in honour of some great nights spent in honky tonks in Nashville Tennessee and Texas, they simply want everyone to have the fun they’ve had.
“Right down to the ‘haller and swaller’, baseball caps, boots and jeans, and the famous Nashville ‘tip bucket’, they are a southern USA experience filling the void for a growing younger audience hungry for artists like Zac Brown Band, Eric Church, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Jake Owen and other mainline USA acts.
“Labels aside, the fact is that this is just great music – country rock rich in classic rock sensibilities, story-telling lyrics and stomping rhythms that appeal to the wider UK audience.”
The Preston show is a special early evening show starting at 4.30pm. Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the door. Contact the Whittingham Club to purchase them.
