Get ready as Caribbean music is set to find it’s home in Preston.
Island Jam will present an all new, Island Jamboree – Masquerade Massacre. There has been a shortage of Caribbean themed events throughout the North West, in particular with the Caribbean community having hardly any events outside the carnival season.
Since Preston isn’t known for its heavy involvement in the Soca scene, Island Jamboree is hoping to fill the gap. Soca is calypso music with elements of soul, which is originally from Trinidad.
The event will take place at Rift Bar Preston on October 26th 2019. The plan is to hold a Caribbean themed event crossed with a little spook for Halloween, as it is the Saturday before.

Renowned British-Caribbean DJs will perform, including DJ Trini and three man sound system, Sensation Sounds, both from Leeds.
Meanwhile Manchester’s four man sound system, Team Shellinz will also be in attendance.
The DJs will draw on their backgrounds of Trinidadian, Jamaican and Grenadian to create a cool, Caribbean vibe.
Creator of the ‘Island Jamboree’s’ idea, Korhys Brown, said: “An event like this is exactly what we need, not just in Preston but across the North West.
“Caribbean people, no matter where we are, we take our culture with us, it is us.
“We eat our food, listen to our music and celebrate Caribbean diaspora, to share with anyone who enjoys, appreciates or is curious about West Indian culture.”
“It’s impressive for Preston to have three talented DJs in one building so it’s going to be a night not to miss.”
Tickets are now available for the event at Fatsoma.com
