A dancer who has been named in the top three teachers in the world has opened a new dancing club in Preston and Penwortham.

Tina Kelly opened Doo-Wop Dance Club in September. Thursday sessions are held at Penwortham Community Centre, while Saturdays take place at The Mandala in Preston city centre.

Tina, who is an ex world-class competitive dancer, previously owned a chain of dance and fitness centres near her hometown of Rossendale.

Her impressive CV includes working as the resident teacher on the QE2 cruise ship and being nominated for the Carl Alan award for outstanding contribution to the dance and theatre industry – getting down to the top three teachers in the world for two years running.

Tina said: “I’m expecting this studio to be a very big deal and bring a wealth of enrichment to the lives of thousands of children and adults in Preston.”

Thursday classes at Penwortham Community Centre run from 5pm and include Street Dance for three different children’s age groups until 7.15pm, when it’s adult Street Dance followed by adult Zumba.

Saturdays at The Mandala start at 12pm with children’s Street Dance followed again by adult Street Dance and then adult Sassy Heels.

All classes are £5 each except adult Sassy Heels, which is £7.
