Police called after man’s body found in cemetery

A man in his 40s has been found dead in Hill Road Cemetery, Penwortham.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the location at 7.20am this morning.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and his family has been informed.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at shortly after 7:20am this morning to the report that the body of a man, believed to be in his forties, had been found inside the cemetery on Hill Road in Penwortham.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to HM Coroner.”
