The University of Central Lancashire has released details of the latest roads to be affected in the second phase of its Masterplan highways improvements scheme.
AdvertisementHarrington Street will be closed for approximately six weeks from Monday 9 September so works can be carried out to make it a two-way road. It will remain access only during this period.
Victoria Street will reopen on Friday 6 September, after it was closed in June to allow the road to be widened.
Traffic will be diverted down Victoria Street, Adelphi Street, St Peter’s Street and Moor Lane while Harrington Street is closed.
The highways scheme will complement UCLan’s circa £60 million Student Centre and new civic square, a key part of its £200 million Campus Masterplan.

Michael Ahern, UCLan’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “We’d again like to thank everyone for their continued patience as we progress these essential highways works as part of our transformational Masterplan.
“As always we would remind road users to allow a little extra time for their journeys at peak times, particularly as we prepare for the return of our students and those from schools and colleges in the area for the new academic year following the summer break.”
