A top cycling author is coming to Preston to talk about his new biography on one of Britain’s greatest cyclists.
Ribble Cycles is hosting an evening with author Chris Sidwells as he discusses his new Cycling Legends 01 Tom Simpson biography.
As well as talking about Tom’s life, Chris will be bringing memorabilia and equipment, including the bike on which Tom won Paris-Nice in 1967 when he beat his team-mate Eddy Merckx.
Ribble Cycles’ Sasha Castling said: “With the UCI Road World Championships taking place in the UK this year, we are pleased to host this event.
“Chris is keen to present Tom Simpson’s inspirational story, a story that is often overshadowed by his tragic death during the 1967 Tour de France.
“It’s going to be a really insightful and entertaining evening, and it’s open and free for all.”
The event takes place at Ribble Cycles Preston Showroom and Outlet at the Walton Summit Centre in Bamber Bridge, on Tuesday 24 September at 7pm.
Reserve a place by emailing rsvpPreston@ribblecycles.co.uk, or ask in store.
