A Preston stand up comedian is bringing live comedy back to the city.
Freddy Quinne is opening Preston Comedy Club on Friday 23 August downstairs in Baluga Bar.
The launch night will feature viral sensation Tiny Tim, who has over two million Facebook fans thanks to his prank calls.
Also on the bill is Steve Harris, comedy club legend and star of Coronation Street, and Quincy, who has supported the likes of Kevin Hart, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle on tour.
Freddy, who has been a professional stand up comedian for a decade, said: “I was born and bred in Preston and ‘grew up’ in Preston’s once illustrious comedy scene. I even worked at the Frog and Bucket when I was starting out.
“Now with the Guild Hall closing we’re in a situation where a city the size of Preston has no real live entertainment – aside from a few long-established music nights – which is a crying shame.
“I’m really passionate about keeping live entertainment in Preston and I think there’s a huge gap in the market for a comedy club, providing top quality entertainment at a reasonable price.”
