A service linking Fulwood, Lea and Larches is not being scrapped according to Preston Bus.
Timetable changes are due for the Service 88 along with a number of other services across the city.
The firm, owned by Rotala, posted a statement on Facebook amid reports the 88 was due to vanish from the city’s roads.
The 88 goes from Royal Preston Hospital to Larches Avenue.
A spokesperson for Preston Bus said: “Contrary to rumours currently spreading like, well, rumours. Service 88 is NOT being scrapped, cancelled, or otherwise discontinued in September. And despite the latest social media whispers, neither is service 14.”
Blog Preston understands the frequency of the 88 is due to be reduced to match its current daytime frequency of once-an-hour throughout the whole day.
