Police closed M6 after late-night incident near Junction 31

Motorists became stuck in long tailbacks during Tuesday evening on the M6.

Preston Police closed the M6 between Junction 32 at Broughton and Junction 31 at the Tickled Trout.

It’s the second closure in the space of 48 hours on that stretch of motorway.

The southbound carriageway was shut just after 11pm on Tuesday (6 August).

All lane closures were removed shortly before 2am on Wednesday (7 August).

Delays of more than 30 minutes were experienced during the incident.

No details about the incident itself have been given.
