A new gelato shop in Lane Ends has created a dish named after the area.
The Lane Ends Bonanza sundae includes 12 scoops of gelato and six toppings.
According to a post on Brown Sugar’s Facebook page, one customer was so desperate to take one away that they went home to get a casserole dish.
The shop, which opened on Saturday 13 July, is situated at 415 Blackpool Road, in what was formerly ice cream parlour Crolla’s.
It’s been an eventful couple of weeks for Brown Sugar so far, after extremely hot weather caused a temporary issue with freezers and meant they had to close early one evening.

The shop is now back to its normal opening hours of Monday to Saturday from 11am to 11pm, and Sunday 12pm to 10pm.
There’s a range of gelato and sorbet flavours available starting at £1.50. The shop also offers desserts such as cookie dough, waffles and fresh donuts, plus hot drinks, cold drinks and milkshakes.
