A busy Preston junction has reopened after a crash.

Preston Police were at the scene in Water Lane in Ashton-on-Ribble.

Where the road meets West Strand and Watery Lane has been shut towards the city centre.

Police had asked motorists to ‘avoid the area’.

A police spokeswoman confirmed they were called to reports of a crash in Tulketh Brow around 4.19am.

She said: “A car had collided with a lamppost.

“Officers attended but nobody was found inside the car.

“It looks like road closures were in place around Water Lane, Watery Lane and Fylde Road. The closures were lifted around 06:50am.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting log number 151 of 22 August.
