A supermarket in Preston city centre has been forced to close.

Iceland in Lowthian House off Ring Way has been affected by a burst water pipe.

Footage sent to Blog Preston shows shoppers being evacuated by staff as water floods down by a window.

The water pipe burst around 11.15am on Friday August 16.

A spokesman for Iceland said: “The store closed at about 11.15am today after a pipe burst in the ceiling and flooded the premises. Contractors are on their way to undertake a repair and should be on site shortly.”

No timescale has been given yet for reopening.
