The top end of Friargate got a spruce up during a sunny Saturday.
Organised by Bernice Marie Newton and the team at Townhouse Coffee and Brew Bar the Friargate clean up was beavering away.
Helped by volunteers from the National Citizenship Service they swept, weeded and scrubbed.
The area along the front of the Ringway where Friargate crosses it was given a clean up.
The Peace Garden was swept and weeded, all the way along the front of the St George’s centre up to the toilet block approaching Lune Street.
Bernice, who won the City Star award for her business and voluntary work, said: “We had such a fantastic day and heaps of fun.
“Found some interesting objects and overall everyone did a brilliant job.”

Those taking part included Les and Tony from Preston City Council, Mike from Preston BID, councillor Peter Kelly, Women in Preston, and other Friargate firms too.
