A visit to the city by the Batmobile from the TV series has been cancelled.

Film and TV fans were due to flock to the St George’s Shopping Centre for a chance to see the vintage vehicle and have their picture taken with Batman.

It had been due to park up in the city on Saturday 11 August but his trusty ride will no longer appear.

A spokeswoman for the shopping centre said it had been cancelled ‘due to unforseen circumstances’.

Batman is still due to be at the shopping centre during the Saturday but will be vehicle-less.

There is due to be a replacement event announced in the coming days.
