Aerial pictures show the scale of the fire at Recycling Lives in Longridge Road.
As crews continue to tackle the blaze, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they are dealing with a fire site measuring 2,500 sq m, mainly involving recycling material from road vehicles.
The road and Guild Wheel are closed, and fire crews are expected to be at the site throughout today.
The fire service were called to the site at 10.20pm on Friday (30 August).
Originally seven local fire engines plus the Stinger from Blackburn and aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn were at the fire. This has since reduced to five fire engines plus specials.
