The Pavilion Cafe in Avenham Park is officially open as the summer holidays get under way.
The cafe has been swiftly renovated by Preston City Council after its shock closure last month.
In just three weeks the cafe has been cleaned, painted, and new staff have been brought ready to open today (Monday July 22).
It builds on the Harris Cafe, which was brought in house at the end of 2018, and has a selection of drinks, sandwiches and cakes on offer for park users.
It is open from 11am to 4pm on Monday to Friday and from 9.30am on Saturdays to allow Park Run participants to enjoy the facilities. It’s also open 11am to 4pm on Sundays.
Well behaved dogs are also welcome.
Cllr Peter Kelly, cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: “It makes perfect sense to use staff and resources from the Harris.
“There is a full catering kitchen here, we can cater for weddings or events and we have a licence.
“It is all about responding to what is needed and what people want.”

Cllr Robert Boswell, cabinet member for the environment, said: “We’re delighted to be able to re-open the café in Avenham Park in time for the summer school holidays.
“They have done a wonderful job getting everything up and running so quickly.
“The officers need to be congratulated on turning it around so quickly.
“It is in a wonderful setting with panoramic views of the park.
“We were sad to see the end of our relationship with Tribourne but must look to the future and the opportunity to enable the café to become a successful business once again.”
