A cafe in a Preston city centre park has closed.

The Pavilion Cafe was shut during Monday (1 July).

Popular with cyclists, park goers and walkers the coffee shop and venue the cafe is operated by the Tribourne group in Avenham and Miller Park.

Preston City Council say they hope the cafe will be reopened soon.

Cabinet member for environment councillor Robert Boswell said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances the independently managed Avenham Pavilion Café has was closed from Monday for business.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and can reassure you we are working on a solution to reopen the café as soon as possible.

“Events and weddings due to take place will not be affected by this closure and future bookings are still being taken.”

Tribourne Group have been approached for comment.

The cafe was built in 2008.
