As temperatures rise in Preston a homeless shelter has made an appeal for bottled water.
The Foxton Centre is asking kind-hearted Prestonians to donate bottled water to be handed out to the city’s rough sleepers.
A heatwave is seeing temperatures of up to 30 degrees in Preston and for dozens of people sleeping rough dyhdration is a serious issue.
Foxton chief executive Jeff Marsh said: “Since we put the appeal out we’ve already had two donations within about half-an-hour.
“It is great how kind people are in this city.
“Everyone needs to be careful in this weather and we will do out bit with people who are on the streets.”
