Organisers have released dozens of photos of families enjoying their day and evening at the festival at Preston Grasshoppers rugby club three-day-festival.

More than 1,000 people attended the Saturday (6 July) of the festival at the rugby ground in Lightfoot Lane.

A spokeswoman for the festival said: “Saturday was a complete sellout which unfortunately left some people who were unable to get a ticket disappointed.

“The touch rugby proved as popular as ever with some interesting fancy dress.

“Everyone took advantage of the stunning sunshine and made use of all the extensive space at the club, languishing in the sun or taking shelter in the marquees when the sun got a little too much.

“A large variety of food was available cooked in the kitchens or outside on the barbecues. Again the bands were greeted enthusiastically and visitors enjoyed dancing late into the night.

“Drink up Sunday was a great success and people enjoyed watch the Wolverines playing American
Football. Any remaining beer was finished off with some enjoying the takeouts on offer.

“We honestly couldn’t have wished for a better festival and would like to thank all of our volunteers who worked tremendously hard, our sponsors for their support and everyone who attended to make it such a success. Roll on Hopfest 2020.”
